March 5, 2020:

Lenord Odell Bohannon, 96, of Fulton, Missouri passed away Thursday, March 5, 2020 at Valley Park North in Fulton. He left for his Heavenly Home surrounded by his family and the staff who had become family to him at Valley Park.

Lenord was born August 5, 1923, in Atlas, Arkansas, the son of Euggie Irtle and Effie (Savage) Bohannon and they preceded him in death.

On August 3, 1923, in Oakland, California he married Mary Elizabeth (Hargrove) Bohannon. Mary preceded him in death on March 7, 2014.

Lenord obtained his Master's Degree in Accounting from the University of Missouri-Columbia in 1954. He worked as the Chief Accountant at Fulton State Hospital, retiring in 1988.

Lenord was a member of Southside Baptist Church where he served as a Deacon for many years.

Lenord was a United States Army Veteran of World War11, serving from 1942-1945, working in the forward echelon, preparing for the arrival of replacement troops as they came in.

After his retirement Lenord enjoyed doing volunteer work, working in his yard and putting together jigsaw puzzles. He also loved to watch Cardinal baseball or most any kind of sports.

Survivors include: one daughter, Michelle Bohannon Yahnig (Ed) of New Bloomfield, Missouri; one grandson, Caleb Yahnig (Fiancee' Kayleen Frazier) of Jefferson City, Missouri; two brothers, Gene Bohannon (Betty) of Sikeston, Missouri and John Bohannon (Margaret Ann) of Sikeston.

Visitation will be from 10-11am, Wednesday, March 11, 2020, at Debo Funeral Home in Fulton. Funeral services will follow at 11:30am at the funeral home with Reverend Guy Thomas officiating. Entombment will be in Callaway Memorial Gardens Cemetery and Mausoleum with Military Honors.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be made to Southside Baptist Church or Hospice Compasus.
