Dorothy Heseltine was the daughter of John Postle Heseltine.She married, firstly, Lionel Charles Cranfield Sackville, Viscount Cantelupe, son of Reginald Windsor Sackville, 7th Earl De La Warr and Hon. Constance Mary Elizabeth Cochrane-Wishart-Baillie, on 24 June 1890.She married, secondly, General George Darell Jeffreys, 1st Baron Jeffreys, son of Rt. Hon. Arthur Frederick Jeffreys and Amy Constantia Fenwick, on 28 February 1905.
