Our loving mother, Bonnie Dee (Boni) Woods Rose, passed away peacefully at her home on Wednesday, March 4, 2020.

She was born to her loving parents, Lewis and Clara Woods, on August 24, 1934 in Portola, California. Before her passing, she had been a resident of Salt Lake County since 1941, where she completed her schooling at West High School.

Bonnie married Paul “Budd” Rose, Jr., on October 27, 1951. The joys of their lives were their nine children and the beginning of many grandchildren. They were married for almost fifty years before Dad’s passing.

One could say that she went from go-go boots to high heels to sneakers then flip-flops. A true working class lady!! Working such varied jobs with ease such as a President of WPGA at Nibley Park to a Race Car Queen at the Utah State Fairpark. She loved to spend countless hours working in the garden. It’s been said “she had the greenish thumb in the valley.” Bonnie was passionate about taking care of others at home and while working in the food service industry.

Survived by her children, Dennis (Ruby) Rose, Sherry Rose, Robyn McCloy, Tina Peterson, Suzie (Elvis) Mendez, and Michael Budd Rose; twenty-three grandchildren; and many more great-grandchildren. Preceded in death by her husband, Paul “Budd” Rose, Jr.; daughter, Vicky Rose; son, Merrell Nunley Rose; son, Paul “Budd” Rose 3rd; grandson, Jerry “Skipper” Floyd; great-granddaughter, Angel Jaramillo; and great-grandson, Juan Alcantar.

A viewing will be held on Friday, March 13, 2020 from 6:00 to 8:00 p.m. Funeral services to follow on Saturday, March 14, 2020 at 2:00 p.m., with a viewing one hour prior. All are to take place at Larkin Sunset Gardens, 1950 East Dimple Dell Road (10600 South), Sandy.
