Funeral services for Ruby Rose Henderson of Carlton will be held at 11 a.m. Monday, Aug. 6, in the chapel of Adamson's Sheridan Funeral Home. The Rev. Bob Arndt will officiate.
A video history will proceed the funeral service, beginning at 10:30 a.m. Visitation is scheduled for 1 to 5 p.m. Sunday, Aug. 5, in the chapel. Interment will be held at Willamina Cemetery.
Mrs. Henderson died at the Willamette Valley Medical Center in McMinnville on Tuesday, July 30, 2007. She was 87.
Born in Ainsworth, Neb., on May 29, 1920, she was the daughter of Oscar Jay and Alta Arvilla (Allen) Pratt. She grew up on a farm and held a continued interest in farming all her life.
She married Howard Sisson Henderson on Nov. 3, 1941, in O'Niell, Neb. She moved to Grand Ronde in 1948, Portland in 1956 and Willamina in 1973. She returned to Portland in 1989, then moved to Carlton in 2002.
During her time in Willamina, she owned and operated Helen's Cafe.
Her hobbies included cooking and bingo. She loved spending time with her family.
Mrs. Henderson is survived by two sons, Lloyd of Carlton and Marland of Tigard; two daughters, Sharon Rush and Shirley Nauman of Carlton; a brother, Elvin Pratt of Portland; two sisters, Marlene Arent of Nampa, Idaho, and Arvilla Pratt of South Dakota; nine grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren. She was preceded in death by her husband.
