He was born on September 18, 1927 in Anthon, IA to the late Florence Riggs Coon and Albert Coon. Jimmie enjoyed hunting and the outdoors. He was formerly a carpenter with ISI and was of the Baptist faith.
In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his son, Brian Coon; one brother; and two sisters. A graveside service will be held at 11 a.m. on Friday, March 13, 2020 at Forest Lawn Memorial Gardens in Madisonville with Pastor Eddie Fleming officiating.
