69, of Fayetteville, died Sunday at home surrounded by family, following a long battle with cancer. Tom retired from the U.S. Air Force in 1988 after serving for 27 years. His last assignment was at the Pentagon where he was assistant director of public affairs in the Office of the Secretary of the Air Force. Following his military service, Tom worked for Hughes Electronics and Raytheon as an independent contractor. Tom was a communicant of St. David's Episcopal Church in DeWitt. He was predeceased by Nancy, his wife of 41 years. Survivors: Sara, his devoted wife of 4 years; three daughters, Debbie Teelen of Manlius, Wendy Kreider of Philadelphia, and Sharon Smith of Delphi, Indiana; five grandchildren; and a sister, Marilyn Foster of Clearwater, FL. Funeral Services: A Resurrection Eucharist celebrating Tom's life will be held on Thursday at 2 p.m. at St. David's Church, Jamar Drive in DeWitt. A calling hour will be held from 1 to 2 p.m. Thursday at the church. A reception will be held in the parish hall immediately following the service. Burial will take place on Monday, August 6, at 2 p.m.
