Funeral for Nellie Hunt of McMinnville will be held at 11 a.m. Saturday in the McMinnville First Assembly of God Church, with Pastor Marion Ravan officiating. Visitation will be in the Chapel of Macy & Son Funeral Directors, McMinnville, from 4 to 7 p.m. Friday.

Mrs. Hunt died March 30, 2004, in her home. She was 81. Interment will be in Yamhill-Carlton Pioneer Cemetery, Yamhill.

She was born Oct. 1, 1922, in Condon, daughter of William L. and Agnes N. McCord Grant. She was raised and educated in Glenwood. After school, she was employed working in peoples' homes.

She later met Lloyd Hunt and they married Dec. 6, 1942, in Kirkland, Wash. They lived in various places in Oregon, Washington and Montana before taking up residence in Seaside for 27 years.

The Hunts moved to McMinnville in 1989. Mrs. Hunt enjoyed working in her yard and also canned fruit, meat and made jams. She was a member of the First Assembly of God Church and held a variety of volunteer positions in the church.

Survivors include her husband of McMinnville; four sons, Donald Hunt of Yamhill, Joseph Hunt of Oklahoma City, Wayne Hunt of Yoncalla and Roger Hunt of Sutherlin; a brother, Franklin Grant of Forest Grove; four sisters, Edith Zuecher and Bessie Reynolds both of Cornelius and Bertha Hjertstedt and Grace Tilley, both of New Plymouth, Idaho; 10 grandchildren and 11 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by a son.
