Mark E. (Hatfield) Schmitt, age 23, of 1083 S. Main St., Mishicot, entered eternal life on Friday, Feb. 2, 2007, at the Aurora BayCare Medical Center, Green Bay, as a result of an automobile accident.
Mark was born April 18, 1983 in Manitowoc. He was the son of Carolyn Knapp and James Klaus. Mark was employed with Wal-Mart in Manitowoc and Green Bay.
He is survived by his mother and step-father: Carolyn Knapp and Gary Schmitt, Mishicot; his father: James (Karen) Klaus, Green Bay; brothers and sisters: Tammy (Robert) Alsteen, Florida; Kevin (Tia) Klaus, Macon, Ga.; Shawn Klaus, Green Bay; Angela (Thomas) Neff, Suring; Paul Lealiou, Green Bay; paternal grandmother: Erma Klaus, Green Bay; aunts, uncles, along with other relatives and friends surviving. He was preceded in death by his maternal grandparents: Arlington and Bernice Knapp; paternal grandfather: Gerald Klaus; and one cousin: Kenneth Mraz.
Memorial services will be held 2 p.m. on Thursday, Feb. 8, 2007, at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home with the Rev. William Lobb officiating. Relatives and friends may call at the Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home on Thursday from 12:30 p.m. until the time of service at 2 p.m.
The Harrigan Parkside Funeral Home and Cremation Center, North 11th and St. Clare streets, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.
