Mary is survived by her 3 daughters and 1 son; Denise Smith of Sugar Grove IL, Sandra Koehler of Sandwich, IL, Frank (Tami) Curley of Camdenton,, MO, and Christina (Joe) Wherley of Ipava, IL. She was blessed with 14 grandchildren and 21 great-grandchildren, her sister Nancy Weaver of Sheridan and brother Warren Van Etten of Alabama. Also several nieces and nephews. Mary was procceded in death by her siter, Dorothy Seidelman and Enid Haacker, and brothers Robert Van Etten and Harold Van Etten, Jr.
Mary was a wonderful Mother, Grandmother, Great-Grandmother, Friend and all around Great Person! She was born and raised in Oswego, IL and attended the Little White School and graduated from Oswego Community High School. She went on to work at Western Electric, became a Foster Mother, worked as a transportation coordinator for Oswego School District 308 for several years. and owned 2 restaurants; Mary's Coffee Shop in downtown Oswego, and Scotty's Restaurant in Oswego at Routes 34 & 71. Mary made most of her own children's clothing, loved lilacs, hummingbirds, cardinals, camping, traveling, and her time playing slot machines. One of her fondest memories in the last year was her last motorcycle ride with her son, Frank.

Burial of Mary's ashes were buried on her mother's grave: Florence Van Etten on Wednesday, July 1, 2020 in Oswego, Illinois.
