D. W. ADAMSON RETIRED RAIL OFFICIAL DIES

David W. Adamson, 64, who was retired as general superintendent of the Laramie, North Park and Western railroad on June 1, 1941, died at his home, 511 Fremont, late last night.
A resident of Laramie for 40 years, Mr. Adamson came to the United States 60 years ago from Glasgow, Scotland, where he was born. He had been in failing health for the last two years.
Mr. Adamson began service with the Union Pacific railroad in North Platte, Neb., in 1898. In 1902 he began work for the Denver, Rio Grande and Western railway in Colorado.
In 1905 he moved to Cheyenne where he acted as Union Pacific machine shop foreman until 1910, when he was promoted to the general foremanship. When the United States entered the World War 1, he was made district foreman, and served in that capacity for the duration of the war; he resumed his work as machinist at its conclusion.
From 1922 to 1924 Mr. Adamson was employed at the Midwest refinery here.
In January, 1924, he was appointed master mechanic on the Laramie, North Park and Western railroad, and served in that position until 1935, when he was promoted to general superintendent, a position which he continued to hold after the Union Pacific took over the road.
In addition to his wife Leona, Mr. Adamson is survived by four sons, James D. Adamson of Los Angeles, Harold L. and Bentley Adamson, both of Denver, and Chester Adamson of Laramie; two daughters, Mrs. Leona J. Hensley, 511 Fremont, and Mrs. Emery Cochran, 459 North Fifth, and 13 grandchildren and two great grandchildren. James is expected to arrive here Sunday from California.
Funeral services will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at the Shannon Funeral chapel. Other arrangements were incomplete today. Burial will be at Green Hill cemetery.
