Grandpa(peapa)was the son of the late Clarence and Althea (Whitier) Porter. He comes from a long line of Porter's and Whittier's all from Maine. He is the decendant of the now famous poet writer John Greenleaf Whittier and one of the first settlers of Mass,Thomas Whittier.

In 1948 he moved to Brandford, CT working in area garages and wire mills. He moved to Jewett City in 1965 and worked at M.S. Chambers for 22 years.

His first wife was Barbera Allen, daughter to Sedgwick Allen,of New Haven ct,and Bernice Littlefield Allen,of Lee,Maine.Barbera and Page had one son together,Allen Whittier Porter, born in 1951.

His second wife is Doris Bailey Porter,of Shelton ct. They married on Aug. 23, 1958. They had 4 children together. David,Danny,Micheal,Cathy.
There first child,David, was born on August 16 1959, Ansonia Ct,and passed on to be with god on August 27 1959,Woodbridge ct.

Grandpa's favorite pass time was restoring old cars, and teaching his children and grandchildren. He always loved to play with us,and was very happy to see us. When Cathy and myself were pregnant with our daughter's,he was very excited. He told me,just out of the blue, that he put an order to god for two girls. Now,mind you,Cathy and I were the only girls in the family. Well, grandpa got what he asked for,two little girls. Tori and Taylor, both with blue eyes and blonde hair.Taylor is his grandchild, and Tori is his great grandchild. He also has 5 grandsons, all of ct,and two great grandsons, also of ct.

Peapa,
You are greatly missed. The day you passed on,you took a piece of us with you. I only hope you are at peace and are watching over us. It will never be the same with out you. I miss going to visit you and finding you in the garage with the boys working on an old car you found. I miss your funny ways, and your jokes you always came up with.I also miss asking you about my car,and telling me what was wrong, and saying to bring it to you,and showing me just how to fix it.
My memories of you will always be with me.You will never be forgotten, not even that little smile you had when we all walked into the house to see you.
love always,your granddaughter,Sis.
