William "Bill" Adams passed away peacefully on September 18th, 2004 at the Gateby Intermediate Care Facility in Vernon, just one month short of his 96th birthday. Bill was predeceased by his loving wife Evelyn with whom he shared 58 years of marriage. Bill was also predeceased by his daughter Pat and one grandson Keith, his parents, five brothers and four sisters. Bill is loved and cherished by his loving family, Marg (Jake) Schmidt, Ann (Clive) Porteous, Bill (Cindy) Adams, one brother Matt, eleven grandchildren, nineteen great grandchildren and numerous nieces and nephews. Bill was born in South Wales on October 16th, 1908 and moved to Canada with his family in 1928 and resided in Lumby where he worked in the forest industry and met and married Evelyn and raised their family. He was an avid hunter, loved the outdoors, bowling with his friends and he spent many hours doing his wood working hobbies. Bill worked proudly for forty years at Bell Pole Company in Lumby. In 1984 Bill and Evelyn moved from Lumby and resided in Vernon for the remainder of their lives. In 1983 Bill was honoured to have a mural of himself placed on a building on Vernon Street in Lumby. Funeral service celebrating Bill's life was held on Thursday, September 23rd, 2004 at the Pleasant Valley Funeral Home. Interment followed in the Pleasant Valley Cemetery. A reception was held in the Pleasant Valley Tea Room following the graveside committal. Funeral arrangements have been entrusted to the PLEASANT VALLEY FUNERAL HOME.
