Jerry was born on June 21, 1945, in Macon County, MO, the son of Elmer Martin and Doris Lucille (Grigsby) Hall. He graduated from Elmer High School in 1964. Jerry was drafted in 1966, into the United States Army and served in Vietnam as a Staff Sergeant, earning the Purple Heart and the Silver Star. He was united in marriage to Geneva Hightower. Jerry was a professional truck driver in California for many years before returning to Missouri and working for Christy’s Auction.
Jerry is survived by one daughter, Rhonda of Maryland, two grandchildren, Jackson and Savanna, two sisters, Janice Binder and her husband Allen and Vanita Christy, all of Macon, and also nieces, nephews, in-laws, and other extended family.
He was preceded in death by his parents, and one brother, John Martin Hall.
Graveside memorial services, will full military honors, will be 2:00 pm, Thursday, March 19, 2020, at the Missouri State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville, MO. Visitation will be from 12:00 noon to 1:30 pm, Thursday, at the Elliott Funeral Home in Atlanta. Memorials are suggested to the Elmer Cemetery or Wreaths Across America.
