Winter HAVEN – John Everett Mincey, 54, of 4010 Avenue O, N.W., died Friday while at work at the W.G. Roe and Sons Packing Co. He was a native of Toombs County, Ga., coming to Winter Haven 40 years ago from Sarasota. He was employed as a field foreman for the Roe Co. Mr. Mincey was a member of Okahumpa Baptist Church of Okahumpka.
Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Annie Marie Mincey; six daughters, Mrs. Ida May Matthews of Portsmouth, Va., Mrs. Annie Ruth Hulsey of Lake Wales, Mrs. Eunice Marie Sanders, Miss Beverly Jean Mincey, Miss Coleene Mincey and Mary Emma Mincey, all of Winter Haven; three sons, James, Johnnie and Ernest Richard Mincey of Winter Haven; a step-mother, Mrs. Eula S. Mincey of Winter Haven; four brothers, Emmett, Edward and Ira Mincey of Winter Haven and William Mincey of Tampa; three sisters, Mrs. Rucia May of Umatilla, Mrs. Alberta Golden of Cairo, Ga., and Mrs. Henrietta Bridgeforth of Auburndale; and five grandchildren.
Services will be held at the Ott-Laughlin Funeral Home chapel at 2 p.m. tomorrow, the Rev. Douglas P. Jensen, pastor of the Havendale Baptist Church, officiating.
Burial will be at Willow Oak Cemetery at Mulberry. Friends may call at the funeral home chapel from 1 until 9 p.m. today.
