Douglas Van Abbott Jr., 52, of Amarillo, died Wednesday Nov. 14, 2001.

Services will be at 3 p.m. today in Memorial Park Funeral Home Chapel of Memories, 6969 E. Interstate 40, with the Rev. Gene Goodwin officiating. Burial will be in Memorial Park Cemetery.

Mr. Abbott graduated from Tascosa High School in 1968. He was a member of San Jacinto Baptist Church. He was a welder and master horseman. He also served in the Army.

He was preceded in death by a son, Kerry James Abbott.

Survivors include twins, Andy Van Abbott, and Brandy Ann Abbott, another son, Billy Joe "B.J." Abbott; two daughters, Rene Howard, Dana Railsback; his parents, Doug and Jo Abbott; a brother, Mark Abbott; a sister, Deborah Abbott; and three grandchildren, Tanner Howard, Kelsey Howard and Blake Railsback all of Amarillo.
