Joyce Louisignau, 92, of Cheboygan passed away at Evergreen Living Center in St. Ignace on March 22, 2022. Joyce was born May 19, 1929 in Mackinaw City, the daughter of Louis and Mary (Douglas) Bauers. Joyce grew up in Cheboygan and graduated from Cheboygan High School. On April 21, 1951, she married Francis "Dick" Louisignau at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cheboygan who preceded her in death after 53 years of marriage. Joyce worked for Michigan Bell Telephone before opening J&R Ice Company in the mid-70s. She later retired from the Fort Fudge Shop in Mackinaw City. Joyce was an avid reader on her iPad or Kindle, she enjoyed her Pinochle club in her younger years and the Wednesday luncheon group and wintering in Florida, but most importantly, she loved her family.

Joyce is survived by her children, Janet (John) Sherwood of Florida and Joe Louisignau of Cheboygan, three grandchildren, Katie (Greg) Renz, J.D. Sherwood, and Ryan Sherwood, two great grandchildren, Lexie and Laynie Renz, a sister, Joanne Drew, several nieces and nephews, sisters-in-law Marcia Bauers and Aileen Bauers, and high school friends, Monie Sibel and Pat Dalka. Special appreciation to JoAnne Skiera, Bob and David Kiefer for all of their help over the past several years.

She is preceded in death by her husband, Dick, her parents, a son, Michael Louisignau, brothers, Jack, Dick, and David Bauers, and in-laws, Theresa and Einar Keldsen, Ann Keldsen, John and Gen Louisignau, Jim (Tut) and Jen Louisignau, Joe and Helen Louisignau, Tom and Margaret Provost, and Eileen and Jake Kiefer.

Visitation will take place at Nordman-Christian Funeral Home on Friday, April 29 from 6-8pm, with a Vigil service beginning at 7pm. A funeral mass will take place at St. Mary's Catholic Church in Cheboygan on Saturday, April 30 at 11am. Father Duane Wachowiak will officiate. The family suggests memorial in Joyce's name be made to Bishop Baraga School, St. Mary's/St. Charles Church, or Michigan Kidney Foundation.
