Gideon Buries Able, 72, of 6–2 Hendley Homes, a retired truck driver, died Wednesday at his home after a short illness.
Mr. Able was born in Lexington County, the son of the late William Elliott and Vesta Hall Able. He was a member of Rosewood Baptist Church.
Surviving are a son, Richard H. Able of Columbia; two sisters, Mrs. Billie Jones and Mrs. Mae Jones of Columbia and three grandchildren.
Services will be 3:30 p. m. Friday in Southland Memorial Gardens, conducted by the Rev. J. Creston Tawes.
Dunbar Funeral Home, Devine Street Chapel, is in charge.
