Lou was the third of ten children born to Thomas G. and Susan S. Lethco Hale. She lived all of life in Douglas County, Missouri. She married William (Will)Adams on March 28, 1897. They were blessed with nine children.
Will passed in 1937 leaving Lou a widow for the remainder of her life. For many years Granny, as she was known by everyone, lived with her son Hershel, his wife Agnes and their children.
A fond memory of Granny Adams was that she chewed tobacco and enjoyed nothing more than receiving a fresh new twist. She would carry it in her apron and chew and spit it in on old coffee can.
Granny was a little old lady with a big attitude. If she didn't like something she never hesitated to let you know.
