C. Elenora (Caution) Briggs, 106, formerly of Carl Avenue, Greencastle, Pa., passed away Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, in Menno Haven Nursing Home, Chambersburg, Pa.

Life:
Born April 26, 1907, in Mercersburg, Pa., she was the daughter of the late Fannie G. (Caution) Stoner.
She spent her early life in Mercersburg, graduating from Mercersburg High School with the Class of 1926.
She married George W. Lewis, who passed away, December 1937, and later married Lewis Q. Briggs on Aug. 1, 1945.
She and Mr. Briggs moved to their residence on Carl Avenue in 1953. Mr. Briggs died March 27, 1997.
Mrs. Briggs was employed as a hand presser for Asba Manufacturing, Greencastle, Pa., retiring in 1970 after 22 years of service.
She was a member of Bethel AME Church, Greencastle, the South Chapter AARP 2977, Waynesboro, as well as the National AARP.
A talented pianist, she played the piano for over 60 years in the Greencastle church and also played in the Mercersburg church.

Family:
She is survived by her niece, Cheryl A. Robinson, Frederick, Md.; two great-nieces and two great-nephews; as well as two great-great-nieces and nephews.
In addition to her mother and husbands, she was preceded in death by two half brothers, Jack E. Stoner and LeRoy M. Stoner.

Miller-Bowersox Funeral Home, 521 S. Washington St., Greencastle, Pa.
Burial will follow in Cedar Hill Cemetery, Greencastle.
