(1885 - 1965)
Anton Modra, 79, of Rt. 2, Manitowoc, longtime County Trunk D farmer and a former operator of a milk route to Two Rivers for a number of years died Wednesday night at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital.
Funeral services will be at 2 p.m. Saturday at Emanuel Evangelical United Brethren Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Karl F. Koch officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.
Mr. Modra was born Nov. 17, 1885, in Czechoslovakia, son of the late Frank and Marie Modra. When he was 18 he immigrated to this country, first locating in New York state. He married the former Emma Koldoff of Two Rivers at Two Rivers July 6, 1910, and had operated a farm four miles west of Two Rivers since.
Surviving besides his wife are a daughter, Mrs. Joseph (Emma) Bochte, of Sheboygan; three sons, Milton, of Grafton, Alvin of Newton and Raymond of Manitowoc; nine grandchildren and a sister and other relatives in Czechoslovakia.
Friends may call at Klein and Stangel Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, after 2 p.m. Friday until 10:30 a.m. Saturday when the casket will be taken to the church where the body will lie in state until time of service.
