William M. "Bill" Dick, 85-year-old Denison resident, passed away Thursday, July 28, 2011 at Texas Health Presbyterian-WNJ in Sherman.

Services will be held at 3 p.m. Monday, August 1 at Johnson-Moore Chapel with Rev. Bob Stevens officiating.

Mr. Dick was born on September 7, 1925 in Bronston, Ky., son of Russell and Ida Kay McDaniel Dick. He married Evelyn Murphy on March 3, 1950 in Fort Worth.

Mr. Dick worked for Walton Transportation, hauling pipe for John-Mansville for 14 years. He ran the Pioneer Oil Station at Heron and Armstrong for many years and then started his own transportation company. He was a U.S. Air Force veteran serving in Japan.

Surviving are his wife, Evelyn Dick of Denison; sons, Samuel Russell (Rusty) Dick and wife, Susan of Denison, Billy Ray Owen of Longview, Texas; stepson, M.L. Leonard of Denison; grandchildren, William McKinley Dick and wife, Kathi of Sherman, James Edward Dick and wife, Dennie of Tom Bean, Carl and Carrie Owen of Longview, Texas. Great-grandchildren are Kaden, Tyler and Garrett Dick, all of Sherman.

He was preceded in death by his parents, brothers and sisters.

Visitation will be held at Johnson-Moore Funeral Home from 3-5 p.m. Sunday afternoon.

The family suggests memorials to Red River Health Care, 308 E. Chestnut, Denison, TX 75021 or the donor's favorite charity, Patients Best Choice Home Health in McKinney, Texas.
