Born in Spartanburg on August 15, 1967, son of the late Walter Harvey Gilbert, Sr. and Ruth Ellen Shipman Gilbert.
A licensed building contractor and was an avid fan of the Altanta Braves and the South Carolina Gamecocks.
Survived by daughters, Autumn (Aaron) Gilbert, Patricia (John) Hegedus, and Kylie (Josh) Mason; three grandchildren, Hunter Day, Klo-e Day, and Daniel Hegedus; six brothers, Ron (Carolyn) Gilbert, Donnie Gilbert, Gary (Brenda) Gilbert, Alvin (Glenda) Gilbert, Robert (Kathy) Gilbert, and Darryl Gilbert; and three sisters, Gwen Ogburn, Ellen (Carroll) Guffey, and Amy Gilbert; along with numerous nieces and nephews.
Also predeceased by one brother, Walter Harvey Gilbert, Jr. (1955-2014).
A memorial service to celebrate his life was held at a later date.
