Albert John Owens, 92 of Hempstead, New York died Friday February 9th at his home.

Born in Brooklyn, NY, Mr. Owens lived in Queens and the Jamesburg, NJ before moving to Hempstead in 2013.

He was employed for over 40 years as a TV service repairman for the Macy's Department Store, Queens, NY. After his retirement Mr. Owens was employed for a few years by the Perrine Pontiac dealership in Jamesburg.

He was a Navy veteran of World War II, serving in the Pacific theater and attaining the rank of Radioman 3rd Class.

Mr. Owens had a good sense of humor and was a jokester who enjoyed telling stories.

He was predeceased by his brother William and his two sisters Ruth and Emily.

Surviving are his wife of 20 years Kettly Bonheur Owens, his five sons Albert G. Owens of South River, Kenneth Owens of Wisconsin, Roger Owens of Long Island, NY, Gerard Owens of Brooklyn, NY and Albert "Bert" Owens, his daughter Jane Owens of Long Island, NY, thirteen grandchildren and a great grandson.

A funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Friday February 16th at the Lester Memorial Home 16 W. Church St., Jamesburg, NJ.

Burial will follow in Fernwood Cemetery, Jamesburg.

Visiting hours for family and friends will be Thursday 4-8 p.m. and Friday 9-10 a.m. at the funeral home.
