DR. ALFRED P. ZLATNIK

Private funeral services will be Monday at Deja and Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, for Dr. A.P. Zlatnik, 76, a physician and surgeon for more than 50 years in the area, and former Two Rivers health officer, who died at 5:10 p.m. Friday at Holy Family Hospital, Manitowoc. Burial will be in the family plot in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers. The Rev. David Hansen will officiate at the services.
Dr. Zlatnik was born at Two Rivers Sept. 19, 1897, a son of the late Peter and Kate Meissner Kurtz Zlatnik. When he was two years old, the family brought him to Milwaukee. Upon the death of his mother, the family returned to Two Rivers where he attended the public elementary schools. He was graduated from Two Rivers High School with the class of 1916. He entered Marquette University School of Medicine that fall from where he was graduated in 1922. He became associated with the late Dr. A.M. Farrell in 1923 after an internship period.
Dr. Zlatnik married the former Florence Calkins of Plover, Portage County, at Two Rivers May 3, 1924.
Besides his wife he leaves a daughter, Mrs. Rudolph (Dr. Mary Ann) Klueber of Bernardsville, N.J.; three sons, Alfred Jr. of Two Rivers, Dr. Philip A., who had been associated with his father, and Dr. Frank J. Zlatnik of Hahn Air Force Base, Germany; a sister, Mrs. Vlasta Rogers of Milwaukee, and 10 grandchildren.
There will be no visitation.
Memorials may be given at the choice of the donor, including Grace Congregational United Church of Christ Memorial Fund, Wisconsin Heart Assn., the Two Rivers Rotary Club Scholarship Fund, and Holy Family Hospital.
