Mr. James R. Davis, 77, of Waynesboro, MS passed from this life Monday, March 30, 2020 at Wayne General Hospital. He was born in Waynesboro on Wednesday, July 22, 1942 to Ed Davis and Madie Davis. He was a member of New Hope Methodist Church. He was also a member of H. S. Stansel Masonic Lodge #603, and he was a Shriner. Mr. Davis served his country in the United States Air Force for 22 years as a Aircraft Mechanic. He was stationed in several locations around the world, including Vietnam in 1967. He was proud of his service in the 89th Maintenance Squadron that provided maintenance for Air Force One while Jimmy Carter was President. Later he was self-employed in small-engine repair. Mr. Davis is preceded in death by his father, Ed Davis; mother, Madie Davis; 5 brothers, Jack Davis, E. B. Davis, DeTalmadge Davis, Johnny Paul Davis, Claude Ray Davis; 3 sisters, Quida Walker, Earline Rodgers, Christine Taylor. He is survived by his wife, Ruby L. Davis, Waynesboro, MS; son, James R. Davis (Kristy), Waynesboro, MS; daughter, Adeline Turner (Mike Mozingo), Waynesboro, MS; brother, Bobby Davis, Alexandria, LA; sister, Noma Sansing, Jackson, MS; 3 grandchildren, Jessica Tiner (Jeremy), Madison Sanford, Katie Turner; 2 great-grandchildren, Jaxon Tiner, Graham Tiner. A Graveside Service will be held for Mr. Davis at 2:00 PM Wednesday, April 1, 2020 at New Hope Cemetery on Old River Road with Rev, Jody Smith officiating.
