Jann M. Wetenkamp, age 51, of 625 N. Sixth St., Manitowoc, died unexpectedly Tuesday evening, Aug. 20, 2002, at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc.

Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Saturday, Aug. 24, 2002, at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc. Officiating at the Mass of Christian Burial will be the Rev. Dave Hoffman with burial at Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers, at a later date.

Jann was born Oct. 20, 1950, in Two Rivers, daughter of Virginia Stope Posny and the late Louis Posny. She was a graduate of Washington High School, Two Rivers, class of 1968 and the University of Wisconsin-Oshkosh, class of 1972 where she received her Bachelor's degree in Education. Jann taught at Valders Elementary and was an educator at Manitowoc Public School District. She was currently teaching at YMCA Pre-School. On July 7, 1973, she married Robert Wetenkamp at Grace Congregational Church, Two Rivers.

Survivors include her husband: Robert Wetenkamp, Manitowoc; a son and two daughters: Chase Wetenkamp and Lindsay Wetenkamp, both at home; Jaime Wetenkamp, La Crosse; her mother: Virginia Posny, Manitowoc; her grandmother: Cecelia Wadzinski, Manitowoc; mother-in-law: LaVerne Wetenkamp, Manitowoc; a brother and sister-in-law: Doug and Dale Posny, North Carolina; two sisters and brothers-in-law: Wendy and Jim Perry, Indiana; Alexa and Don Pochowski, Kansas; and three brothers-in-law: Richard Wetenkamp, Lee Wetenkamp and his wife, Vicki, Roy Wetenkamp, all of Manitowoc. Also surviving are nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. She was preceded in death by her father: Louis Posny and her father-in-law: Gerald Wetenkamp.

The family will greet relatives and friends at Sacred Heart Catholic Church, Manitowoc, from 9 a.m. Saturday until the time of service at 10:30 a.m. In lieu of flowers, a memorial has been established in Jann's name.

The Pfeffer Funeral Home & Cremation Care Center, Manitowoc, is assisting the family with funeral arrangements.

Jann was a dedicated mom and wife. She had so many special friends that were dear to her. It is difficult to list them all, but you know who you are. Special thanks to the students and friends at the UMCA, P.I.G.S. Inc. and her teaching friends at Valders. She loved you all.
