John F. Watson, 63, of Memorial Drive, a former president of the Two Rivers City Council, died late Thursday afternoon after a heart attack.

Funeral services will be at 3 p.m. Monday at Deja & Martin Funeral Chapels, Two Rivers, the Rev. J.J. Roehrdanz officiating. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.

Mr. Watson, long active in the electrical field, was born at Neenah, Wis., Jan. 19, 1895, son of the late George S. and Lillian Watts Watson. He attended school at Neenah. He married the former Myrtle Carnopp (sic) July 21, 1917, at Menominee, Mich. During World War I he served with the American Expeditionary forces in France as a member of the 29th Division. After his discharge, Mr. and Mrs. Watson moved to Two Rivers where the couple resided since. In 1923 he formed a partnership with George Lahey and the firm was known as Lahey & Watson and was established at 1516 Washington St. in electrical contracting and the distribution of appliances. The firm moved to 1812 Washington St., in 1929 where it continued to operate until 1951 at which time Mr. Watson retired. He served as president of the City Council in 1933 and was a member of Masonic Lodge No. 200, F. & A.M., and the Veterans of Foreign Wars Gold Star Post, No. 1248.

Survivors include the wife, a son, Robert of Mequon, Wis; two daughters, Capt. Winifred Watson of Fort Belvoir, Va., and Mrs. Larry Eberlein of Shawano; a brother (unreadable sentence), state superintendent of schools and four grand-children.

During World War II, Mr. and Mrs. Watson lost two sons, George and Frederick, in action.

Friends may call after 2 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.
