GREENVILLE, SC - Jason Samuel Chastain, 87, of 10502 Anderson Road, died Wednesday, January 29, 2003.


He was the husband of Edna Bynum Chastain and was born in Hall County, Georgia, the son of Elmer and Martha Warren Chastain.


A U.S. Army veteran, he was a barber by trade for over 40 years, and for the last 20 years worked at Super Barber Shoppe. His church membership was at Rock Springs Baptist Chaurch.


In addition to his wife, he is survived by a son, Arthur S. Chastain, of Lancaster, Pennsylvania; a sister, Nancy Jones, of Gainesville, Georgia; two grandchildren; and three great-grandchildren.


The family will receive friends, from 6:30 to 8 tonight, at Thomas McAfee Funeral Home, Northwest.


Funeral services will be at 1:30 p.m. Saturday, at the funeral home. Members of the Glory Bound Sunday School Class will serve as honorary escort. Burial will be at Graceland Cemetery, West.


The family is at the residence.
