Virgil H. Grave, 92, of Lake Park passed away March 27, 2020 at Pearl Valley Rehab and Nursing in Lake Park. A graveside service will be held at a later date in the Silver Lake Cemetery in Lake Park. Virgil was born on June 28, 1927 in Currie, Minnesota to Henry and Linda (Monkamier) Grave. He attended school in Currie, Minnesota. Virgil served his country during the Korean War in the US Army. After returning home from the service, he was united in marriage to Norma Van Briesen in March 7, 1953. She preceded him in death on August 14, 2016 in Lake Park. After his marriage to Norma, Virgil farmed. He later went to work for Rehams & Stewart hauling concrete and gravel. He later went to work and retired from Eaton’s in Spencer.
He was a member of Concordia Lutheran Church where he was a church Elder. He was also a member of the John W. Kidd VFW Post #4514 in Spirit Lake. In Virgil’s free time he enjoyed gardening, playing pool, horseshoes, cards and bingo.He is survived by his daughter Roxanne (Daniel) Bohlke of Iowa City, IA; son Kraig Grave of Lake Park, IA; grandchildren Allison (Alex Henningsen) Bohlke of Portland, OR; Jackie Grave of Lake Park, IA; Jessica Grave of Windom, MN; great grandchildren Tavia Grave of Windom, MN, Addisyn Siemers of Lake Park, IA and Harry Parsons of San Raefel, CA; and his brother Richard (Donna Mae) Grave of Red Wing, MN.He was preceded in death by his parents, wife, granddaughter Megan Bohlke, and his nine siblings, Violet (Fred) Becker, Calvin (Norma) Grave, Dorothy (Tom) Murphy, Earl (Dorothy) Grave, Donnabell (Lloyd) Eichner, David (ramona) Grave, Gerald (Jenny) Grave, Francis (Tom) Comnick and Lavine (Austin) Riemman.
