Edward D. Strohm, 68, of 1910 Monroe St., Two Rivers, retired Two Rivers police officer, died at Two Rivers Municipal hospital, shortly before midnight Saturday, where he had been a patient since he was stricken with a heart attack at his home two weeks ago. Masonic funeral services will be held at 2 pm Tuesday at the Klein & Stangel Inc. Funeral Home, Two Rivers, the Rev. Carl Ipsen, pastor of Calvary Evangelical Lutheran Church, Two Rivers, officiating. The Masonic rites at the church and graveside will be directed by Past Master Heber Clayton of Two Rivers Lodge No. 200, F & AM. Burial will be in Forest View Cemetery.

Pallbearers will be the members of the Two Rivers Police Department with whom Mr. Strohm worked during his period of service including Chief Edward F. Pazdera, Captains Ben F. Hanstedt and Thad W. Logan, Sergeants Herbert Pagels and Charles Barman and Officer Anthony Soucoup.

Edward Strohm was born at Kewaskum, Washington County, March 19, 1888, a son of the late George and Catherine Ullman Strohm. When he was a boy the family brought him to Wabeno, Wis., where the parents took over the operation of a farm. In his young manhood, Mr. Strohm started to work in the northern Wisconsin lumber mills, the last of which was at Tipler, Wis. He moved his family to Manitowoc early in 1926 and was employed at the Aluminum Specialty Co. until Nov. 16, 1926 when he joined the Two Rivers Police Force under the late Chief Ferdinand Schroeder. He retired on pension from the department on April 30, 1949 and his last place of employment was as custodian of the Calvary Lutheran Church, Two Rivers. Mr. Strohm was a member of the Two Rivers Lodge of Masons, transferring from the Florence, Wis. Lodge where he became affiliated. In August, 1908 he married the former Mayme Teteak at Lena, Wis., who died in Two Rivers in 1951. He married the former Leaha Wolfe Ammerman in 1954.

She survives him along with two daughters, Mrs. Clifford Ahrens of Manitowoc and Mrs. Gerald Wotruba of Two Rivers; five sons, Elhardt, George and Lester of Two Rivers, Orville of Lena and Vernon of Rt. 2, Two Rivers; seven sisters, Miss Emma Strohm and Mrs. Esther Bell of Hobart, Ind., Mrs. Bertha Nortstrom and Mrs. Tillie Fuhrman of Perkins, Minn., Mrs. Clara Henes and Mrs. Harry Layman of Wabeno and Mrs. Lou Brigham of Crandon; a brother, Arthur Strohm of Merrill; 24 grandchildren and one great grandchild.

Friends may call at the funeral home until the time of service. Masonic brethren will meet at the Masonic Temple at Two Rivers at 1 pm Tuesday.
