Ruth Barr, age 89 of Perry, passed away on Friday, March 16, 2018 at the Rowley Memorial Masonic Community in Perry, IA. Mass of Christian Burial will be held on Monday, March 19, 2018 at 1:00 p.m. at the St. Patrick's Catholic Church in Perry. Private family graveside service will be in the Violet Hill Cemetery at Perry. Memorials will be given to Ruth's family and may be left at the Carris Family Funeral Home & Cremation Care.
Ruth Irene Barr was born on August 26, 1928 at Colfax IA to George W. and Dorothy Ellen (Harris) Lindsey. She graduated from the Elkhart High School. She was united in marriage to Elmer Ross Barr at Des Moines, IA on September 30, 1946. She worked at the Dallas County Care Facility for 25 years.
She was a member of the St. Patrick's Catholic Church. She loved to read and enjoyed flowers and bird watching.
In death she rejoins her husband Elmer Ross Barr, parents, George and Dorothy Lindsey, daughter and son-in-law, Teresa (Dennis) Kanealy, grandsons, Jacob Kanealy and Andy Eiteman, great grandson, Casey Eiteman, siblings, Thelma Hick, George Lindsey Jr., Glenn Lindsey, Betty Hick, Robert Lindsey, Ora Belle Lindsey, Joyce Parker, Ted Lindsey and Jeanette Dale.
