Funeral services for John Spevacek, 80, of Rt. 1, Maribel, who died Sunday at Memorial Hospital, Manitowoc, were at 1:30 p.m. Tuesday at Saur Funeral Home, Kellnersville. The Rev. Gervase Zanotti officiated and burial was in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.
Mr. Spevacek was born March 12, 1888, at Gibson, son of the late John and Marie Benda Spevacek. He married Anna Straka and settled on the homestead farm in the Town of Gibson. He farmed for 30 years retiring in 1940. The couple celebrated its 50th wedding anniversary in 1963.
Survivors include his wife; a son, Stanley, of Rt. 1, Maribel; a daughter, Mrs. Edward (Evelyn) Shimanek, of Manitowoc, a brother, Joseph, of Green Bay and four grandchildren. A brother and a sister preceded him in death.

Mr. John Spevacek and Miss Anna Straka of Melnik were united in marriage Wednesday morning, Oct. 26th at 10 o'clock at Manitowoc by Judge Chloupek. The witnesses were brothers and sisters of the bride, Emily and Edward Straka. The wedding was a quiet affair. After the ceremony the newlywed couple departed on a honeymoon trip to Milwaukee and Chicago. On returning they will take up their residence on a farm at Melnik.
