'During the period from 20 November to 1 December 1941, Private Aberhart distinguished himself as a member of 13 Platoon, C Company, 20 NZ Battalion. In all engagements he proved himself a courageous and resourceful soldier and his coolness and initiative under fire were an inspiration to his section. These qualities were noticeable at all times, particularly in the engagement at MENASTIR and in the night attack on BELHAMED.'. (Source: The National Archives.
