Giving birth to twin sons Richard and Robert, at Two Rivers Municipal Hospital Thursday morning, Mrs. William G. Schmidt, 27, 1414 15th St., Two Rivers, a well known registered nurse and golf enthusiast, died at the Two Rivers hospital shortly after noon Friday.

Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Monday at the Grace Congregational Church, Two Rivers, the Rev. Richard J. Wichlei officiating. Interment will be in Forest View Cemetery, Two Rivers.

Mrs. Schmidt, nee Edith Mae Peterson, was born in Chicago in 1925, a daughter of Victor and Ella Winkelmiller Peterson. When she was a year old the family brought her to Two Rivers, where she attended the public schools and was graduated from Washington High School with the class of 1943. After her graduation she entered Grant Hospital in Chicago for nurses training from where she was graduated as a registered nurse in 1946. After serving at Grant Hospital for another year she joined the nursing staff at the Two Rivers Municipal Hospital in May of 1947, remaining until early in 1951. She was married to William G. Schmidt in Two Rivers in June of 1950.

Besides her husband and parents, she leaves three sons, Jeffrey, 15 months old, the twins, Richard and Robert; three sisters, Mrs. Henry Breivogel and Mrs. Russell Kirchner of Two Rivers and Mrs. Ralph Brouchoud of Rhinelander; and two brothers, Russell of Cleveland, Ohio, and Kenneth Peterson of Manitowoc.

An ardent golfer, Mrs. Schmidt was a member of the Fairview Women's Golfers Association, and was also affiliated with the Elks Auxiliary.

Friends may call at the Beduhn, Deja & Martin Inc., Funeral Home, Two Rivers, from 2 p.m. Sunday until 11 a.m. Monday when the casket will be removed to Grace Congregational Church where the body will lie in state until the time of services.
