"Mrs. Schlager, (née Pearl Thayer), was born Oct. 16, 1897, a daughter of the late Archie and Hannah Gill Thayer. She was married July 5, 1919 to Emil Schlager at Manitowoc. A bus driver for the Safeway Motor Coach Co., Manitowoc, he died in 1952.
"She was a member of Royal Neighbors of America, the Auxiliary of the veterans of Foreign Wars Post 659 at Manitowoc, and Gimbel's American Legion Auxiliary of Milwaukee of which she was a past president.
"Surviving is the daughter, Mrs. Jane Henry of Joplin; a son, Lester, of Cincinnati, Ohio; four sisters, Mrs. Lillie Murk, of Springfield, Va., Mrs. Cora Harper, of Junction City, Ore., Mrs. Otto Behnke, of Silver Springs, Md., and Mrs. Edwin A. Klein, of Two Rivers, and six grandchildren."
