Ada Gertrude Breedlove Powell, 89, of 213 Center Street, died August 9, 2007 at her residence.

A native of Transylvania county, N.C., daughter of the late Carl and Annie Owens Breedlove. She was the last member of her immediate family and a former employee of Lyman Printing and Finishing Company, and a member of Riverside Baptist Church, where she was a very active member in church visitation ministry. Mrs. Powell was a former Sunday school teacher.

Surviving are her husband, Leo (Gube) Powell of the home; two daughters and sons-in-law, Joan and Lagran Brown of Greer and Linda and Wayne Hyder of Campobello; a daughter-in-law, Billie Ann Powell of Greer; seven grandchildren, Brian and Karen Powell of Greer, Allen and Lori Powell of Fountain Inn, Kenny and Sheila Powell of Greer, Connie Hyder, Ted Hyder and David Hyder, all of Campobello, and Debbie Powell of Lyman; 11 great-grandchildren; and three special care givers, Donna Nixon, Janice Hammond and Brenda Maser.

Mrs. Powell was predeceased by two sons, Larry Powell and Van Powell.

Funeral services will be held 4:30 p.m. Saturday at Wood Mortuary conducted by Rev. Jerry Stepp. Burial will follow in Wood Memorial Park.
