Sebastian Bess (Boesch/Bisch), a tailor by trade, arrived from Germany into Philadelphia on the ship "Townshead" 8 Oct 1737 with wife and children.
Sebastian "Bastian/ or Boston" Bess made his will 8 July 1761 when living "in the settlement of Dutch Buffalo Creek" in what was then Anson County, North Carolina. North Carolina Wills, Vol A-F.
Dutch Buffalo Creek rises near Organ and Lowerstone Churches in southeast Rowan County, North Carolina and flows southeast through Cabarrus County into Rocky River. It is named for the German (Deutsch/Dutch) settlers who settled here. There is also a Buffalo Creek in Rutherford/Cleveland Counties, North Carolina.
