Donald F. Aikey, Sr., 81, of Lock Haven, passed away Thursday, Oct. 25, 2018 at Lock Haven Hospital.

Born Nov. 30, 1936 in Lock Haven, he was the son of the late Thomas and Lavina Rager Aikey.

Donald was a 1954 graduate of Lock Haven High School.

He served in the United States Navy.

On Dec. 2, 1961, he married his love, the former Peggy Paulus.

Donald was a contractor, building houses including the home that he and his wife resided in.

He attended United Evangelical Lutheran Church, Lock Haven.

Donald was a charter member of the Dunnstown Fire Company. He enjoyed woodworking.

In addition to his wife, Peggy Aikey of Lock Haven, he is survived by three children, Jane Aikey of Las Vegas, NV, Donald Aikey, Jr. of Lock Haven and Diane (Don) Park of York Haven; his sister, Dorothy (Dean) Muthler of Lock Haven; and five grandchildren, Megan and Dylan Aikey and Alison, Alena, and Abby Park.

Along with his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Jennifer Aikey.

A funeral service will be held on Monday, Oct. 29, at 11 a.m. at the Donald G. Walker Funeral Home, Inc., 231 High St., Flemington with Rev. Karl Runser, III officiating. Burial will follow at Rest Haven Memorial Park.

Friends and family will be received at the funeral home on Sunday from 6 until 8 p.m.

Memorial contributions in Donald’s name may be made to the American Diabetes Association through the funeral home.
