Joseph Lee Daniels Chavers, 69, of Bostwick, FL passed away Monday, August 6, 2007.
Lee was born on June 11, 1938 in Pensacola, FL, graduating from Tate High School in 1956. He was a plumber pipe fitter and a 34 year member of the Local 234 Plumbers and Pipe Fitters Union, Jacksonville, FL. Lee was a life member of the Elks Lodge Palatka, FL No. 1232. He was well known for his charitable work in helping the Elks Childrens Therapy Services fundraising. He was a U A delegate to the 2001 Convention in Miami, FL. Lee was an avid Gator fan.
Preceded in death is his half sister, Asylene Boyd; and her husband, J. E. Boyd.
Survivors include his loving wife of 40 years, Gussie; daughter Tanya; numerous nieces, nephews and very special friends.
The family will receive friends from 7:00 p.m. to 9:00 p.m. Friday, August 10, 2007 at Pensacola Memorial Gardens Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. Saturday, August 11, 2007 at the funeral home. It was Lee's wish to be cremated and his ashes scattered in the Gulf of Mexico.
In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to Rodeheaver Boys Ranch, 380 Boys Ranch Road, Palatka, FL 32177 or Florida Elks Childrens Therapy Services, 24175 Southeast Highway 450, Umatilla, FL 32784 in memory of Joseph Lee Daniels Chavers.
Arrangements are by PENSACOLA MEMORIAL GARDENS FUNERAL HOME.
