Wilodene Manning Edwards passed away on March 28, 2020 in Charlotte, NC where she was currently residing.

Wilodene was born March 14, 1928 in Huntsville, Alabama where she lived most of her life until moving to Charlotte, NC in 2014 to live near her daughters, Beth Edwards O’Connor and Carol Ann Edwards. Wilodene was predeceased by parents, Fred Thomas Manning and Verna Manning Burton, stepfather, Homer Burton, former husband, William B. Edwards, and brother, Fred Thomas Manning Jr.

Wilodene attended Huntsville city schools, graduating from Huntsville High School in 1946 with honors. She then attended and graduated from Nashville Business College and went to work at Redstone Arsenal for the Dept. of the Army, then finished her career with the US Army Missile Command. Wilodene always enjoyed her work and took it very seriously as she felt it was important and contributed to a greater cause.

Wilodene was a lifelong member of the First United Methodist Church where she helped care for young children in the nursery for many years and later served on the altar guild. She met many friends and found much comfort at First Methodist.
