May's parents were: John Nelson Sims and Louise Olivia Martin.
She had a twin brother Edward Sims. She was the niece of Sarah Sims and Mary Ann Sims who were wives of May's brother-in-law Donald Angus Crites, Sarah passing away in 1901 and Donald marrying Mary Ann in 1902.
May's family all moved to Arizona then on to Ontario, California by 1909. The move was because of May's poor health. She died in June of 1913 and the rest of the family moved back to Gildford, Montana.
