Our precious mother, wife, grandmother, great grandmother, sister, aunt and friend, Ann Elizabeth Monsen Doby McClure, passed away April 1, 2020 with her loving family by her side, she was born February 18, 1939 in Moreland Idaho to Hugh Monsen and Juno Grimmett Monsen. The youngest of four girls, she grew up in Salt Lake City, UT where she attended school and spent many hours playing Monopoly and other games with her sisters. Ann was a member of the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter Day Saints and was grateful for the caring and thoughtful members who were always so good to her. She was an avid reader, great dancer with lots of rhythm, liked to play cards and loved her bowling team and league in Sandy, UT. Many were drawn to her fun sense of humor. Ann met John William Doby In Salt Lake City and they eventually married in 1959. They welcomed a son to the family, Mark John Doby in 1960 and a daughter, Valerie Ann Doby in 1961. With John being a medic in the U.S Navy, they soon found themselves stationed at Camp Pendleton in Oceanside, CA . Tragically, John passed away of heart failure on Feb. 6, 1968 while at sea.

Later she met a young Marine, Michael Moran McClure and they married in 1973. They were blessed with a son, Christopher Michael McClure in 1974. After retiring from the service, they moved to Sandy, UT where they spent many happy years. They moved back to Oceanside, CA to be near their children.

Ann was preceded in death by her parents, first husband John, son Mark, and sister Gayla. She is survived by her husband Mike, daughter Valerie Doby, son Chris McClure, grandson Teddy (Bridgette) Martinez, great granddaughter Harlow Martinez, sister Valene Krone and sister Carma Cady.

Ann was laid to rest next to her son Mark John Doby.

A Celebration of Life Service will be held at a later date. Due the restrictions from the Corona Virus we are unable to hold a burial of more then 10 people.
