Jerry William Reeves, 74, of Altus, Oklahoma, passed away Friday, September 28, 2018, at the Bridges Rehabilitation at Plantation Village in Altus.

Mr. Reeves was born on August 9, 1944, in Duke, Oklahoma to Woodrow W. and Rosa L. (Heidenreich) Reeves. Jerry was a 1962 graduate of Altus High School where he excelled in football and track, placing second place, in the state shot put event. After college, Jerry farmed with his dad for many years and after his father’s death, he acquired several more acres, which he farmed until his health forced his retirement. On May 15, 2002, he married Mary Edminster, and they spent the next fifteen wonderful years together before her death on September 12, 2017. A long-time member of the Church of Christ, Jerry was a farmer at heart and was known for always helping others.

Preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Mary; his brother, Tom Reeves and his sister, Rebecca Reeves, he is survived by a sister-in-law, Beverly Reeves of Loveland, Colorado; one niece, Kathy Reeves of Windsor, Colorado; one nephew, Michael Reeves of Austin, Texas; two step-children, Sheila Thomas and husband Lindy of Mangum and Melaney Edminster of Altus; three step-grandchildren, Garrett, Jaylann and Blaise; along with many other relatives and friends.
