Newton Garland "Bud" Clark, 79, 1246 Simerly Creek Road, Hampton, passed away at Johnson City Medical Center after a lengthy illness.

"Bud" was a native of Carter County and the son of the late Jess B. and Gladys Garland Clark.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by a brother, Dana Clark, and a great-granddaughter, Megan Holly.

He was a retired millwright and a member of Unicoi Free Will Baptist Church.
He was a U.S. Army veteran and a member of the Unicoi Masonic Lodge and the Eastern Star.

Survivors include his wife, Virgie Birchfield Clark; two daughters, Fredia (Robert) Edwards & Diane (Trevor) Gentry, all of Unicoi; four grandchildren, Billy Holly Jr., Michael Holly, Robert Arrowood & Ashlynn Gentry; three greatgrandchildren, Bethany Holly, Lucas Holly and Sarah Holly; four sisters, Rebecca (Paris) Street Sr., Hampton, Alice (F.D.) Birchfield, Unicoi, Geraldine (Richard) Lacy, Roan Mountain, and Judie (James) Perdue, Unicoi; and a brother, Sammie Clark, Unicoi. Several nieces and nephews also survive.

Military Honors were provided by the Tennessee National Guard.
The family would like to express special thanks to the physicians and staff of the Johnson City Dialysis Center and his dialysis buddies.
