"If it's hard to say goodbye, your life's been truly blessed". On January 15, 2021 we said a sad goodbye to David Klem, 75, our loving husband, father and grandfather due to cancer.

Dave was born in Richfield Springs, the son of the late Robert and Mary Klem. He graduated from Richfield Springs Central School and continued on to get degrees from Potsdam and Cortland State. Dave was a much loved teacher for 21 years at Fabius-Pompey then became a much admired School Business Administrator for 12 years, retiring from ESM Central School. For the next 15 years he worked in 9 other school districts as an interim business administrator. But his most loved jobs were those as father, grandfather and husband.

His wife, three sons and five grandchildren were the lights of his life. After his wife Jean retired, they traveled all over the USA and the world...from Asia, Europe, Africa, Australia, South America and other countries too numerous to list. Dave was an excellent skier, loved to golf, snowmobile, play bridge and tell jokes....a true jokester who had a huge laugh! He especially loved working on all his home building projects up on his beloved "Dutch Hill".

He is survived by his loving wife of 49 years, Jean, his three wonderful sons and daughters-in-law, Brian (Katie), Darren (Tina), Jeff (Megan); his five precious grandkids, Payton, Laney, Ari, Aubrielle and Jackson; his brothers Bob (Joan), Chuck; his sisters Betty (Bob), Marna (Keith) and his friend and "4th" son, Billy Shults. He was predeceased by his dad and mom and his sisters Connie and Charlotte.

Services will be privately held at St. Patrick's with a celebration of his life in August. His family would like to give special thanks to Dr. Scalzo and his practice at HOA, Hospice, and the fabulous CREW!

Donations in his memory can be made to St. Leo's/St. Patrick's Food Pantry, PO Box 577, Tully, NY or Hope for Bereaved, 4500 Onondaga Blvd. Syracuse, NY 13219. "As the curtain comes down, I feel that this is just goodbye for now".
