Funeral services for Raymond Elby Irons, 86, were held Wed., Aug. 1, at 2 p.m. at the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee with Rev. Lawrence Matlock officiating. He died Mon., July 30 in Okmulgee.
Born in Tuskegee, to Earl and Emma (Belvins) irons on May 28, 1921, he was a longtime resident of Okmulgee. He married Ruby Hodge on Feb. 3,1948 in Okemah. He worked for ASG Industries for 13 years and then for Okmulgee State Park, retiring in 1983. He attended the Calvary Baptist Church in Okmulgee. He loved his time with family and to fish.
Preceding him in death were his parents and several brothers and sisters.
Survivors include his wife Ruby; one daughter, Donna Nelson of Choctaw, two grandchildren ad three great-grandchildren.
Interment followed at the Okemah Cemetey under the direction of the McClendon-Winters Funeral Home.
