George Washington Alcorn, 82-year-old retired farmer, died Monday night at 7:20 o'clock at his residence in Levelland. He had been a resident of Hockley county for 10 years.
Funeral arrangements, under direction of Bryan McDonald and Son Funeral home here, had not been completed last night. Rev. W.B. Wages, pastor of the Missionary Baptist church at Levelland, will hold services there.
He is survived by his wife, Isabell, two sons four daughters, 21 grand-children and 17 great grand-children. His sons are Thomas Grady Alcorn of Long Beach, Calif., and Ernest Nelson Alcorn of Tula Lake, Calif. Four daughters are Mrs. Carrie Manley of Anton, Mrs. Margie Worfel [sic] of Long Beach, Calif., Mrs. Lonnie Williams and Mrs. Lynn Masingale [sic], both of Levelland.

LEVELLAND, July 31, (Special) - Body of George Washington Alcorn, 82, will be buried in Levelland cemetery after 4 o'clock services Wednesday afternoon at the Levelland Missionary Baptist church. Rev. W.B. Wages, pastor, will officiate.
