ARMEN O. HACKELBERG
(1934 - 2017)

Armen O. Hackelberg, age 83, of Manitowoc, died Sunday afternoon, November 19, 2017, at Manitowoc Health & Rehabilitation Center.

Armen was born on February 22, 1934, in Oconto, a son of the late Owen and Margaret (Nellis) Hackelberg. Armen served in the U.S. Air Force as a jet engine mechanic in the early 1950's. On May 9, 1956, he married Glenda Mae Cederstrom in Green Bay, she preceded him in death on August 17, 2012. Armen was a mechanic at the JCPenney Auto Center in Manitowoc and then at the Manitowoc Co. for many years, retiring in 1991. He was an active member of St. Paul Ev. Lutheran Church, where he served on the church council, was a Sunday School teacher and sang in the choir. Armen was an avid camper and fisherman and really enjoyed traveling to tractor shows.

Survivors include his three sons: Greg Hackelberg and special friend, Cynthia Bonner of Egeland, North Dakota, Kevin Hackelberg and special friend, Beckie Hoerth of Two Rivers, and Wayne and Renee Hackelberg of Two Rivers; two grandsons: Ryan Hackelberg and Jared Hackelberg, a brother: Clyde Hackelberg of Two Rivers and two sisters: Candice Mocco of Green Bay and Joy (Walter) Homeyer of Two Rivers. He is further survived by his sisters-in-law: Christa Hackelberg of Jefferson, Emogene Riemer of Pound and Sue Casarotto of Las Vegas, Nev.; along with nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends. In addition to his parents and wife, he was also preceded in death by an infant daughter: Rose Marie; granddaughter: Nicole Hackelberg; two brothers: Alan and Rick Hackelberg; a sister: Lois (Gene) Brunette; his father-in-law and mother-in-law: Harold and Mabel Cederstrom; sister-in-law: Teola (Bob) Kaye and three brothers-in-law: Eugene Riemer, Francis Mocco and Harold Cederstrom, Jr.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Saturday, November 25, 2017, at St. Paul Evangelical Lutheran Church, 2601 S. 10th St., Manitowoc. Armen's best friend, Lay Minister Don Shawhan, will officiate at the service with entombment to follow in Knollwood Chapel Mausoleum, Hwy 310, Manitowoc. Military honors will be accorded by members of V.F.W. Post # 1248 and American Legion Post #165 of Two Rivers.

The family will greet relatives and friends at the church on Saturday morning from 9:00 a.m. until the time of the service at 11:00 a.m.
