GEORGE WILLIAM PRIGGE
(1948 - 2017)

George William Prigge, age 68, of Newton, WI, passed away on March 10, 2017 in Milwaukee, WI after a courageous battle against cancer.

George was born in Newton, WI on October 3, 1948 to Gerhard and Dorothy Prigge. He was raised in Grimms, WI and graduated from Reedsville High School in 1966. George joined the United States Army and served until 1971. He was in the Night Observation Training and Tactical Support Detachment (NOTTS) stationed in Cu Chi, Vietnam. George was trained and excelled in surveillance and electronics.

On April 9, 1971, George married the former Perri Rosano in Alexandria, VA. He worked for Weyerhaeuser in Manitowoc until 2008 when he retired. He spent many of those years working in union representative positions and doing safety work for the company. George loved watching sports, especially his granddaughters playing softball. He enjoyed watching the birds in his beautiful yard that he cherished. More than anything else, he loved his family. He was proud to have raised strong-minded, strong-willed children, loved a good debate, cared about his country and his community and felt that being good to others mattered. He will be remembered for his quiet generosity and that he was always willing to be there for others. No one ever wondered how he felt, he always told it like it was.

Survivors include his wife: Perri; his daughter: Jennifer (Sam) Dickey; his son: Brian Prigge; and his granddaughters: Amelia and Olivia. He was preceded in death by his mother and father: Dorothy and Gerhard Prigge; his mother-in-law and father-in-law: Mabel and Santo Rosano; his nephew: Joshua; his sister: Jane Lawrence; and many other much loved family.
