Samuel J. Hall, age 94 of 1128 South 35th. St. Manitowoc, died Saturday, February 9, 2013 at Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc, with his loving family at his side.

Sam was born June 8, 1918 in Manitowoc, son of the late William and Lillian Vollmer Hall. Sam attended schools in Manitowoc and graduated from Lincoln High School with the class of 1936. He served in the Merchant Marines, sailed the Great Lakes, Oceans, and then became a Journeyman Iron Worker for 30 years until his retirement in 1980. On March 27, 1952 he married the former Germaine Meister in Peshtigo, WI. Sam was a member of St. James Episcopal Church, Manitowoc, and also Deacon for many years. He was a member of the Iron Workers Union Local #8. Sam was a wonderful loving husband, father, grandfather, and great-grandfather and will be sadly missed.

Sam is survived by his wife, Germaine Hall, Manitowoc: 8 children, Richard Hall, Manitowoc; Marie (Thomas) Hall, Manitowoc; Joseph (Barbara) Hall Manitowoc; Corinne (Thomas) Ayotte, Valders; William Hall, Manitowoc; John (Barb) Hall, Manitowoc; Michael (Patsy) Hall, Manitowoc; Patrick (Lori) Hall, Appleton: 22 grandchildren; 23 great-grandchildren: one great great-grandson due in a week: sister-in-law, Edna Meister, Manitowoc: nieces, nephews, other relatives and friends also survive. He was preceded in death by one son, Charles Lee Hall: one brother and sister-in-law, William (Jeanne) Hall: four brothers-in-law and three sisters-in-law, Arthur Meister; Lucille (Ted) Kraemer; Vivian (Ed) Fargo; Jane (Alfred) Stasiek.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, February 12, 2013 at St. James Episcopal Church 434 North 8th. St. Manitowoc. Bishop Russell Jacobus will officiate, and assisted by Rev. Diane Murray. Entombment will follow at Knollwood Mausoleum. Relatives and friends may call on Tuesday at the church from 9:00 a.m. until the time of services at 11:00 a.m. The Reinbold & Pfeffer Family Funeral Home, Manitowoc is assisting the Hall family with funeral arrangements. Online condolences may by expressed at www.jensreinboldandpfeffer.com In lieu of flowers a memorial has been established in his name.

The family would like to thank Dr. Mark Herring, nurses and staff, and also the nurses and staff of Holy Family Memorial Medical Center, Manitowoc Health and Rehabilitation Center Silver Lake Court for the loving and compassionate care given to Sam.
